During the the 1930's and 40's, the building was the hub for propeller manufacturing here in Alameda. The train tracks are still evident right in front of the building, as the cars would stop and unload massive steel waiting to be shaped into razor edges cutting into water. The buidling has been revitalized. Now it is the home for many notable artists and photographers.
